Training Classes Silverstream Lower Hutt

Postby Vicki » Wed Aug 22, 2007 3:36 pm

I trained dogs for 20yrs three to Obedience Champions and judged on the NZKC Obedience Judges Panel for ten years.  Have since retired from judging and all competition but now own two spoodles.  I take free dog training classes in Stokes Valley, Silverstream area of Lower Hutt.  All breeds are catered for - classes are currently running on Saturday mornings but will be transferred to Wednesday evenings once daylight savings starts.  If interested reply to this notice and I will contact you.

Classes will start on the 10th October 7pm to 8pm - as I use private grounds and they dont charge me I can take these classes for free.  I dont want to advertise exacely where the classes are held but happy to give it out if people make contact with me.  But classes are in the Stokes Valley - Silverstream area.  I have the use of tennis courts (no longer used) and a large grass area.

My home phone number is (04) 9715203

Hi  Vicki,

We are getting a puppy soon (they're only about 3 1/2 weeks at the moment), and your classes sound great - at what age do you recommend we start our puppy with classes?

Thanks,
Kate

(ps, love the names  ;))

Wow what a kind person you are training dogs for free, what a wonderful service for those that may normally decide not to do this because of cost factors.  Good on you.
Megan. :) :) :) :) :)

Ted could do with some basic retraining as it seems he has taken on a watching type mode within our house....which gets annoying as he runs to the door etc etc....

As the grounds we use are private any risks are outweighed by the need to socialise a puppy.  Just observing and letting your pup interact with others at this stage would be fine.  If the weather is foul (which seems like always at the moment) then we dont have the classes but fingers crossed for Wednesday night.

Hi, I just stumbled across this very old topic....Vicki, are you still running these training groups? I don't quite have my own Oodle yet, but I'm working on it - hopefully will have one very soon! I'm local and if I'm lucky enough to get a dog it will be my first dog ever, so I'm the one who needs training! LOL!!

I'd LOVE to join in if you're still holding these as I need to learn everything!

Thanks :)

Very busy few years and had to stop the free training classes, time now permits that I can do a bit more, put problems on this site and I will try and help. Would like to restart free training classes if possible, CIT in Upper Hutt looks like a good venue, lets know if interested, or if you know of other suitable venues. Tana is 8 tomorrow and Nonu now 7. I also do clipping if anyone in Hutt Valley interested, my place or yours and I do listen to what type of clip you want!
