warning about four paws branded toys

Postby doyle and mollie » Wed Aug 27, 2008 8:18 am

this was posted on another forum but i think its important the word gets around :(

A number of dogs have been killed, maimed or severely injured while playing with Four Paws brand dog toys, "Pimple Ball with Bell" and "Teaser Ball with Bell".

A link to the full story is below (Warning: the video it contains is very distressing):

http://www.thechaistory.blogspot.com/

These balls come in several different colours (including multicoloured) so if you have any round toy with a bell inside, it's probably best to bin it immediately.

For more info on the toys in doubt

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention!  Wouldn't it be awful to see that happen to our own dogs....not worth considering  :(.  I've gone so far as to send a protest email to the company and I never do that sort of thing.

Are they the ones who also sell those multicoloured pet tennis balls with 2 paws printed on them, i bought some (brand new in packaging) of trademe, and my dog split it in half within a few minutes of chewing on it, just after a couple of throws on a soft grass paddck, could of been real dangerous if she'd swallowed it....

it sounds like it - its really scary to think something seemingly harmless could end up lethal

There are a number of other products very similar to that brand in the market place also, probably a good idea to be wary of them all. :(
